Just finished. I... love... this... game. One day I might be able to say something critical about it, but for now: It's just perfect, from beginning to end.

So anyway, I'm off to Japan to live with Eiji Aonuma. More when I arrive.

Hey! HEY!

It's here, and it's awesome.

Guest on Japanese game show beats level 1-1 of Super Mario Brothers without looking. (Next up: blindfolded, one-handed sub-ten minute speed run of SMB. It's coming, folks. I guarantee it.)

John Cage performs Water Walk on I've Got A Secret. It's baffling to see Cage perform in this context. His music is so wrapped up in the "contemporary" for me that it seems anachronistic to put him up against a smoking, monochrome talk show host. I love how he maintains the intensity of the performance even when he knows his audience thinks he's a nutbag.

Rap commercial for Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening, circa 1994. Peepin' through with an overhead view, 'cause a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do. This commercial is great (maybe the only commercial from the shameful "rap sells stuff to kids!" era of marketing that doesn't induce bleeding from the ears and eyes), and so is the game. I picked it up last week for $4.99, plugged into the old SP (how I've missed you!) and haven't been able to put it down. It's like A Link to the Past distilled to its finest essence.
